IMCA Membership
BECL are pleased to announce that they have obtaine membership of the International Marine Contactors Association (IMCA). Membership is in the Service Supply Category for the Diving Division in the Middle East and India Section. IMCA membership not only gives added value to Bluewater Energy Consultants Limited but it also adds value to its clients when BECL are contracted to provide advice and services that comply with IMCA guidelines.

Maritime and Underwater Security Consultants
A second contract is awarded to BECL to provide project management services to Maritime and Underwater Security Consultants on a $6.3 contract variation order in Southern Iraq. The project is for the clearance of all unexploded ordnance from a 200m x 2000m channel on Al FawPeninsula prior to pipeline and landfall construction. The project also requires survey of the 200m width channel to a further 1500m using hovercraft to detect any further items of ordnance that may be present. There are five visible mine belts to be cleared which include anti-tank and anti-personnel mines. BECL are responsible for the implementation of all elements of the project from provision of all procedures, to construction of a base camp and security, and procurement and logistics of equipment and personnel.

Maritime and Underwater Security Consultants
BECL awarded contract to prepare proposal for an Offshore UXO Mitigation Project in Southern Iraq for South Oil Company/Foster Wheeler Energy. The workscope includes the development and implementation of management systems, procedures and methodology that meet with IMCA requirements as well as subsea ordnance disposal best practice. In addition the commercial evaluation and planning/scheduling for the proposal is to be provided. This is to include the procurement and logistics of all suitable vessels, plant and equipment, and experienced and qualified sub-contract labour.

Worley Parsons (Qatar Office)
BECL have provided Technical Advice to Worley Parsons in relation to a FEED Project for a new integrated oily water/sludge treatment system at Halul Island. The services provided included advice on commercial diving activities in relation to the replacement of a 24" O.D. subsea pipeline, subsea survey of a jacket face and the landfall point.
